CMP welcomes guest scientists from CNR IMM, Catania!

Dr. Rosaria Puglisi (CNR-IMM, Catania) and Rizwan Rafique join CMP and INA for collaborative work on Silicon Nanoplasmonics

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Rosaria Puglisi, our long-term collaborator from CNR-IMM Catania, Italy, will join us for a two-month stay dedicated to deepening our research collaboration on Si-nanowire plasmonics. Dr. Puglisi will also collaborate with the experimentalists around Prof. Hillmer at INA to develop new nanostructure and coating layer growth techniques.

Financed by the Erasmus+ Mobility Grant for Lecturers (Project number: 2023-1-DE01-KA131-HED-000129490), Dr. Puglisi will also teach parts of the course on “Technology of electronic and optoelectronic devices,” held in the Summer 2024 term.

Dr. Puglisi is accompanied by her PhD student, Rizwan Rafique, who will spend a three-month secondment in our section. He will support Dr. Puglisi in the lab and work on computational photonics methods to predict nanowire plasmonics in collaboration with the University of Messina, Italy.

A warm welcome to Dr. Rosaria Puglisi and Rizwan Rafique!

Many thanks to the University, specifically the Div. Internationalisation and International Cooperations, for financially supporting Dr. Puglisi's stay and to the International Office for their splendid organizational support and the ERASMUS+ matters.
