The study explores the use of short-term lidar measurements in combination with mast measurements to improve vertical extrapolation of wind speed. Different methods are developed and analyzed with respect to their performance for estimating the mean wind speed, the distribution of wind speed, and the energy yield of an idealized wind turbine at target height.
