On September 24th, we were honored to participate in the official kick-off meeting of the KonSEnz project, held at the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy System Technology (Fraunhofer IEE).

The KonSEnz project aims to develop new forecasting methods to address the challenges posed by weather-dependent energy production and flexible consumption. Its objective is to combine continuous, adaptive learning with machine learning operations to handle an increasing number of forecasts and ongoing optimizations. Field tests will validate these methods in use cases such as photovoltaics, wind energy, and vertical power flow. The energy forecasting models are expected to continually adapt to changes in the behavior of energy producers and consumers.

We (University of Kassel, Intelligent Embedded Systems) had a productive exchange with our project partners: Fraunhofer IEE, ENERCON (Wobben Research and Development), SOPTIM AG, Amprion GmbH, 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, TenneT, and Project Management Jülich, Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH.
