Investigation of the implementation of the practical school studies II (subject didactics) at the University of Kassel
The research project is based on the results of a research project on practical school studies from 2011 and is intended to deepen and concretize these results. In the first part, an overview of subject-specific features of the practical school studies II (SPS II) will be compiled. The focus is on recording the concepts of the individual subject disciplines for the design of SPS II, as well as the reasons for special regulations. The module examination regulations and specially conducted expert interviews serve as the data basis here. In a second step, points of criticism and suggestions for improvement are to be worked out from the data material within the aim of developing comparable requirements and framework conditions for the SPS II. These considerations are framed by the nationwide discussion on the possible introduction of a practical semester.
A total of 31 guided expert interviews were conducted with those responsible for the individual subject didactics and the educational staff responsible for SPS II at the University of Kassel. The audio recordings were transcribed and analyzed using the MAXQDA program. The results of this research project are presented in a comprehensive final report and in a master's thesis in the Empirical Educational Research degree program.
