"Postcarts for the future," a documentary by the MAMA collective, brought Colombian realities in threatened regions to Kassel's Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse
The construction of an international port was politically promoted as a promise of development. For the inhabitants, a scenario of threat opens up to the nature in which and from which they live. The film bears witness to state violence and expulsion and allows people to speak who would remain silent internationally, nationally and supra-regionally, while also depicting and reflecting on the protest movement that has so far succeeded in averting the construction of the port by designating it as a nature reserve.
After the film premiere, questions and suggestions from the audience were discussed. A round international documenta film evening!
