Book 'Landscapes for Future - Landschaften und sozial-ökologische Transformationen' published
This book provides a comprehensive overview of the connections between landscape thinking and socio-ecological change and answers questions such as:
- What are the ideas of transformative landscape change? How do we work with them in practice?
- How do we initiate processes of reflection and communication about sustainable landscapes?
- What role can planners and other actors play in landscape change towards greater sustainability?
- Which governance approaches can be used to shape landscape-related transformation processes? What significance do large protected areas - such as biosphere reserves - or regional parks have in this context?
- What resistance and conflicts are there and how can they be dealt with?
- What examples are there of landscapes being used as experimental spaces or real-world laboratories for socio-ecological transformations?
Markus Leibenath and Alena Birnbaum from the 'Landscape Planning and Communication' department have edited the volume together with Ludger Gailing from BTU Cottbus -Senftenberg.
