FG ARCHITEKTUR STADT ÖKONOMIE | Bauwirtschaft und Projektentwicklung invites to:

Partisan Design Camp
Berlin 2024
9.-11. Oktober
www.partisan-design.de

The Partisan Design Network at StadtWERKSTATT Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Mehringdamm 20, 10961 Berlin

From October 9-11, 2024, the Partisan Design Network's student camp will take place in Berlin. Professors and students from twelve universities, each with a unique design focus, will gather to discuss how design education can be practically and critically aligned with real-world problems. The Partisan Design Camp addresses students' current questions about design and inequality in the context of urgent social and ecological crises by proposing a commitment to support marginalized groups and causes.

Through experiments on partisanship and socio-political engagement in design, the camp builds bridges between contemporary partisan design approaches and earlier design theories—from Rittel/Webber to Burckhardt in the 1970s, participatory design strategies, equity, and advocacy planning. In around twenty workshop groups, the various partisan design approaches of the different disciplines and faculties will be discussed, critically expanded, or explored through collaborative cooking.

Participants include students of Ulf Aminde, Kunsthochschule Berlin; Matthias Böttger, HGK Basel; Ludwig Engel and Julian Schubert, The Sandberg Institute; Brigitte Felderer, Die Angewandte Wien; Jesko Fezer, HFBK Hamburg; Maike Fraas, HBKSaar; Frauke Gerstenberg, Muthesius Kunsthochschule Kiel; Matthias Görlich, Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle; Nina Gribat, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg; Gabu Heindl, Uni Kassel; Tatjana Schneider, TU Braunschweig; and Rebecca Stephany, Kunsthochschule Kassel.
