In spring 2016 the department of structural systems organized an excursion to Iran. With a group of 14 students from architecture, landscape architecture and urban planning we travelled from Tehran via Isfahan to Shiraz with stops in Abyaneh, Kashan, Pasargadae and Persepolis. We visited both contemporary and historic buildings, the famous Persian gardens as well as ancient cultural sites and today's metropolises. Moreover, we used the opportunity to visit architectural practices (Bahram Shirdel sowie [Shift] Process Practice / Nashid Nabian and Rambod Eilkhani) and had a joint session with the School of Architecture at the University of Tehran.
