What are the types of business models to successfully leverage new technologies in areas such as AI, digital platforms or Internet of Things? This question motivated an analysis of the top-1.000 venture funded technology startups, which recently got published in the International Journal of Innovation Management. The study, authored by Prof. Gerrit Remané, Prof. Sabrina Schneider and Prof. André Hanelt, identified 49 novel business model types that can serve as a recipe collection of mechanisms to guide and inspire firms that want to leverage new digital technology as well as provide researchers with a systematic conceptual foundation for further work on digital business models.
