The council consists of politically independent economic experts; it advises the black-green state government and is to draw up recommendations for government action in the next legislative period. "The task is clear: We must make optimal use of digital technologies, consume fewer resources and become climate-neutral in the process by 2045. The 'Hessian Future Council for the Economy' is intended to provide us with important impetus on the way there" - said Minister President Boris Rhein and Economics Minister Tarek Al-Wazir in Wiesbaden after the first Hessian Economic Summit.

Accordingly, the main topics of the Future Council are digitalization, decarbonization, the work of the future and the (inter)national strategic positioning of Hessen as a business location.
The "Hessian Future Council for the Economy" will initially present its recommendations for action in an interim report to the state government, probably in mid-August 2023. The handover of the first "Hessian Future Economy Report" is scheduled for the end of 2023.
