Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H, full-time

The following position is to be filled at the earliest possible date in the Department of Economics, Institute of Business Administration - Department of Information Systems and Systems Development (Prof. Dr. Matthias Söllner):

Research Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H, fixed-term, full-time (currently 40 hours per week)

The position is initially limited for 36 months as part of the project "Digital infrastructures that promote privacy - legally compliant and quality-centered design of an open search infrastructure" in accordance with § 2 para. 2 WissZeitVG. The possibility of a doctorate is given and is actively encouraged. An extension beyond the project duration is being sought.

Open search infrastructures are a key factor in ensuring the self-determination of users in the digital age. However, the leading search engines are currently based on one of four search engine indices that are controlled by companies. To counteract this development, the EU is currently promoting the development of an open search engine index based on European standards. Current projects focus very strongly on technical development, which means that important socio-technical factors have so far been given little consideration. As part of a new interdisciplinary BMBF project, the focus is on the legally compliant and trust- and acceptance-promoting design of such an open web index. We are looking for a research assistant for the focus on trust and acceptance-promoting design.

Your tasks:

  • Scientific collaboration in research and teaching in the field of business informatics and system development
  • Scientific collaboration in the above-mentioned project with a focus on empirical and/or design-oriented research on the trust and acceptance-promoting design of open search infrastructures

  •  Strong social and communication skills, initiative, motivation, high sense of responsibility, ability to work in a team and very good organizational skills, Enthusiasm for high-quality research
  •  Openness to working in interdisciplinary projects and willingness to cooperate nationally and internationally with partners in science and practice
  • Very good knowledge of German and English

Advantageous are:

  • Initial experience in the following areas: open search infrastructures, technology acceptance and/or trust in technologies
