The EMBS program awards Italian NGO H4O, Help For Optimism

The European Master in Business Studies (EMBS) has bestowed upon H4O, Help For Optimism, an Italian NGO operating in Madagascar, the prestigious "Best Internship" Award. The accolade was accepted on behalf of H4O by Stella Moliterni, a student, at the ceremony held in Kassel. The President of H4O, Edoardo Bono, expressed his gratitude despite being unable to attend the event in person.

Jointly managed by the University of Kassel, the University of Savoie Mont Blanc (France), the University of Trento (Italy), and the University of León (Spain), EMBS is a comprehensive two-year full-time Master's degree program in Management with a specialization in International Marketing. Renowned for its culturally diverse environment and high-value business curriculum, EMBS fosters creative thinking and decision-making skills among students, preparing them for the global marketplace.

Established in 2014, H4O, Help For Optimism, operates as the sole NGO across North West Madagascar, with a focus on islands such as Nosy Komba, Nosy Mitsio, and Nosy Be. Their holistic approach to development integrates water and sanitation initiatives with broader efforts in health, education, economic development, sports, and creative practices. By empowering local communities and fostering social enterprises, H4O ensures sustainable development outcomes.

H4O's impact spans various sectors, including health improvements, women's empowerment, skills development, and financial sustainability, all underpinned by evidence-based programming and partnerships with academic institutions. Notably, H4O has spearheaded social enterprises producing affordable, high-quality health care products, such as medicated toothpaste and disinfectant soaps, contributing to both public health and economic empowerment. One such success story is Tsara Tsiky (Pretty Smile), a locally-produced medicated toothpaste that not only improves oral hygiene but also empowers women through employment opportunities. The proceeds are reinvested into H4O's WASH projects, exemplifying their commitment to sustainable impact and community development.
