Research

Our research profile is interdisciplinary and future-oriented. It focuses on four key areas: Economic Behavior and Governance (EB&Go), Digital Transformation (DITRA), Skills Acquisition & Entrepreneurship (KENT) and Sustainability, Energy and Environment (NEU). They deal with the central challenges of our time and highlight topics of particular social, economic, scientific, legal, technological, environmental and educational relevance. Our economic and legal research is international and interdisciplinary. Committed to the overarching research profile of the University of Kassel, we develop innovative collaborative research initiatives and maintain strategic partnerships with leading (inter)national research institutes. Fortunately, the volume of evaluated third-party research funding has steadily increased.

Anniversary at our Chair

We're excited to share some great news: this year marks the 10th anniversary of our chairholder Astrid Dannenberg as a Professor at the University of Kassel. And we’re not the only team to celebrate: Heike Wetzel, Chair of the ‘neighboring’ Department of Empirical Energy Economics, also celebrates her tenth anniversary. On this occasion, the two teams met for a nice dinner at the Herkulesterrassen, next to Kassel’s unique landmark.
