Our research profile is interdisciplinary and future-oriented. It focuses on four key areas: Economic Behavior and Governance (EB&Go), Digital Transformation (DITRA), Skills Acquisition & Entrepreneurship (KENT) and Sustainability, Energy and Environment (NEU). They deal with the central challenges of our time and highlight topics of particular social, economic, scientific, legal, technological, environmental and educational relevance. Our economic and legal research is international and interdisciplinary. Committed to the overarching research profile of the University of Kassel, we develop innovative collaborative research initiatives and maintain strategic partnerships with leading (inter)national research institutes. Fortunately, the volume of evaluated third-party research funding has steadily increased.

Award for outstanding dissertation and DITRA Award for Dr. Lara Schilling
We congratulate Lara Schilling on receiving the Science Award of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Kassel for an outstanding dissertation. Lara's doctoral work, "Digitally-Driven Sustainability: Enhancing Value Creation in Emerging Market Supply Chains," provides insights into how digital technologies can promote the development of sustainable supply chain business models, particularly in emerging economies.
In addition, Lara has been awarded the DITRA Award by the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Kassel for the best paper in the field of Digital Transformation. Her paper, "Mobile Financial Service-Enabled Micro-Businesses Driving Sustainable Value Creation in Emerging Markets", explores how mobile financial services and associated supply chain flows can strengthen the institutional environment in emerging markets to foster sustainable value creation.
