Water-saving irrigation method for ridge cultivation

The research project focuses on the variable site-specific strip irrigation in agriculture and horticulture due to innovation of linear move irrigation systems. Usually ridge cultures are irrigated over the total area, both ridges and furrows. The new method allocates the water only at the crone of the ridge where the water is really needed.

The research project aims to

  • Reduce water amount
  • Minimate erosion
  • Improve cropping management

Project partners are the University of Kassel and the SME Beinlich Agrarpumpen und -maschinen GmbH.
