Kate Khakhviashvili

Kate Khakhviashvili  is pursuing her doctoral studies under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Angelika Ploeger on the theme “Georgian Traditional fresh cheese screening on the existence of antibiotic-resistant E.coli and Coagulase positive staphylococcus strains in the organized retails and open markets of Tbilisi, capital of Georgia;

Keti graduated Bachelor of Applied Biosciences, field of study Food Biotechnology, Tbilisi State University in 2015. In 2017 she completed Master of Food Technologies in Agricultural University of Georgia; her Master of Food Technology thesis research was “HACCP implementation in Georgian cheese factories”.

She is pursuing food safety field and works as Quality and Hygiene Manager in Majid Al Futtaim hypermarkets Georgia since 2015. Leading Country Quality and Hygiene department. Establishing, documenting, communicating, implementing, inspecting, and maintaining key performance indicators of Food Safety Management System for all channels and operations within the Georgia. Before she worked as Food Safety Specialist’s Assistant in consulting company start consulting for three years and was part of USAID REAP internship project as Environment specialist intern.

In 2019 she participated in UN's 57th Graduate Study Program (GSP) and gained a holistic understanding of the principles, purposes and activities of the United Nations and its related agencies through first-hand observation and study at the United Nations Office at Geneva.
