Strain Measurement

Experimental setup for investigating the strain distribution of a friction stir welded aluminium bar
using in-plane sherographic measuring device at a tensile testing machine.  Click the tensile 
specimen to see an animation of the measurement where fringes begin to incline against the 
x-axis unter the angle 45° when loading reaches the elastic limit.

The evaluation of the in-plane strain (y direction); the displayed surface is about 62 mm in 
length and 20 mm in width, the loading for the image is between 9.35 and 9.7 kN.
