Professor Stefan Lechtenböhmer and PhD candidate Lixue Lin-Siedler were invited to present the work of our group at the First International Conference on "Petrochemicals and Climate Change: Technology, Policy and Societal Change in a time of Planetary Crises", which was held 1st to 3rd July at the University of Cambridge.
Professor Stefan Lechtenböhmer presented the topic 'The global transformation of the petrochemical industry in a climate-constrained world and its implications for global sustainability' and chaired the panel 'Products'. PhD Candidate Lixue Lin-Siedler presented on 'Chemicals parks and the Defossilisation of the Chinese Chemical industry'.
The conference featured a great mix of researchers, NGOs and policy makers from all over the world. It took place at the prestigious Fitzwilliam College and was jointly organized by Cambridge University, UK and Lund University, Sweden.
