Christian Andreas Hans took over as head of the "Automation and Sensor Technology in Networked Systems" department in the summer semester of 2023. His research combines methods from control engineering, artificial intelligence and networked systems. His focus is on applications in the field of complex energy systems with a high proportion of decentralized renewable feed-in. Before working at the University of Kassel, he was a research assistant at the Technical University of Berlin, where he received his doctorate in 2021 on the topic of "Operation control of islanded microgrids". He obtained his diploma in electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen University. During his studies and doctorate, he gained experience abroad at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain) and at the IMT Lucca (Italy).
