Beyond raw materials: Kassel Sustainability Institute invites you to events
Image: Nicolas Nova.Two new professors and one female professor are presenting their inaugural lectures together - quite unusual. They deal with raw materials and sustainable transformations in different ways and from their respective perspectives.
The lecture by Prof. Dr. Andreas Christian Braun (Faculty of Ecological Agricultural Sciences) deals with "Sustainability Narratives of the Chilean Forestry Industry", and Prof. Dr. Kristina Dietz (Faculty of Social Sciences) with "Conflicts over Raw Materials in Latin America". Finally, Prof. Dr. Andreas Fischer-Lescano (Faculty of Human Sciences) will ask "Just Transitions through Law?". All three are also members of the Kassel Institute's Board of Directors. The triple lecture begins on January 11 at 6 p.m. in the university's Gießhaus, Mönchebergstraße 5. Registration is requested at anmeldung.antritte[at]uni-kassel[dot]de.
The following day, January 12, also at 6 p.m., a public panel discussion will start in the new UNI:Lokal at Wilhelmsstraße 21 on the topic: "Ways out of the socio-ecological catastrophe?" Guests will come from Fridays for Future, Letzten Generation and the University of Flensburg, among others. The discussion will be moderated by Kristina Dietz. Registration is not required.
The series of events will be supplemented by a non-public workshop for academics and students on January 12 and 13.
