Theaters offer a wide variety of positions for humanities graduates, e.g. author, dramaturge, artistic director, cultural management, marketing, human resources, press and public relations, assistant director, director, theater pedagogy, etc.

Example of a job in the theater: dramaturg. A:a dramaturg:in is responsible for coordination tasks at the theater and in related professional fields. This person works, for example, on the development of play schedules and is a literary expert vis-à-vis directors, artistic directors, the press and the public. Today, dramaturgs also work for concert organizers, the media (radio, television, film) and public organizations. A job as a dramaturge is particularly interesting for graduates of German studies and philosophy.

One must keep in mind that one is competing with people who have studied theater.

intern:ing or part-time in the theater or volunteer with private theater companies.
   
Requirements for entering the profession
There are theater degrees, but these are not a must. Practical experience (internships) and personal interest are decisive criteria.

Experience in internships or part-time jobs related to theater, in which you were able to demonstrate your organizational skills and creativity and which prove your interest are essential.

If you would like to become a performer, it is advisable to gain as much experience as possible and to promote your talent with targeted measures, as well as to build up a good network.
