Propaedeutic Spanish A2-B1

Welcome to the Institute of Romance Studies at the University of Kassel!

It is important that after the first semester you can use Spanish at language level B1 without any problems, both to successfully complete the individual modules of language practice and to participate in the courses of the subject-specific sciences.

I do not have B1 language level yet.

If you do not yet have a B1 language level at the start of your studies, we will support you with special practical language courses, which are known as propaedeutic courses and are taught exclusively by native speakers. Within the first winter semester, you will reach level B1 through a combination of block courses and regular weekly sessions.
1st block: (intensive course)
Monday 30.09.24
Tuesday 01.10.24
Wednesday 02.10.24
Friday 04.10.24
each from 8:30-10:00 + 10:30-12:00 + 13:00-14.30

Monday 07.10.24
Tuesday 08.10.24
Wednesday 09.10.24
Thursday 10.10.24
Friday 11.10.24
each from 8:30-10:00 + 10:30-12:00 + 13:00-14.30

2nd block: (during the semester)
Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m.

Please register for the preliminary course by e-mail:

I have a language level higher than B1.

If you have a higher language level than B1, you can join the practical language course that is right for you. To do this, you must take a placement test. Registration is not necessary.

Date: 16.10.2024
Time: 14:00-16:00
Location: Kurt-Wolters-Str. 5, Room 0020
Lecturer: Dolores León Munoz
