Course of study/training
The study program is dual, i.e. it combines theory with exciting practice. The training offered is also divided into theoretical content, which is taught at a vocational school, and practical sections.
When does the career start?
The study program begins on September 1, while the apprenticeship usually starts after the Hessian summer vacations. But beware! On 31.10. the application deadline ends and an application is only possible if not all training places could be filled. So it pays to be quick. Otherwise, the only option is to wait for the next recruitment date.
Study/training allowance
Both students and trainees at the University of Kassel earn a salary from the first day on.
The apprenticeship pay is based on § 8 paragraph 1 of the collective agreement for apprentices of the state of Hesse (TVA-H BBiG). Trainee salaries are based on the Hessian Salary Act.
Where does the journey lead?
For the practical study or training period, your daughter or son will be assigned to the various departments of the university administration, other central institutions, the university workshops, or the departments.
Requirements
For the dual courses of study, the university entrance qualification or the advanced technical college entrance qualification is required, and for an apprenticeship, a Realschule or Hauptschulabschluss is usually sufficient. The school requirements vary depending on the training occupation and can be viewed on the websites for each occupation.
