Internet Measurements R5a
Courses
Content
- Carrying out internet measurements (internet data science)
- Analysis of the Domain Name System (DNS) and its security
- Internet traffic characteristics and measurement methods (e.g. samples, aggregation)
- Internet control plane analysis and robustness
- Methodological concepts for carrying out internet measurements
- Measurement strategies for internet application security
- What does internet traffic look like? how and where can you improve the internet, and how can these improvements be tested? The above questions are methodically realized. How can such measurements can be statistically evaluated?
Learning outcomes
- Explain given distributed algorithms and analyse their properties
- Evaluate the complexity of algorithms, develop extensions for given algorithms, implement distributed algorithms
Determine the applicability of given algorithms to new application scenarios - Explain methods for conducting massive internet measurements in order to
- understand complex systems
- evaluate their security properties
- Be familiarized with the key aspects of internet traffic, the use of internet protocols and security, as well as the methods for conducting large-scale Internet measurements
