In the digitalization era, not only personal computers are connected to the Internet, but also critical infrastructures, such as smart power grids. Without robust security measures, these infrastructures become vulnerable to cyber threats. Modern, large-scale applications, such as Big Data and Machine Learning, present novel challenges on the current state of theoretical cryptography – the foundation of Information Security.
At the University of Kassel, the Information Security Group centers its focus on the essentials of cryptography, particularly public-key cryptography. Our group is dedicated to transforming modern cryptography to safeguard next-generation applications. We employ practice-oriented provable security, constructing practical cryptography with mathematically proven security as our key tools. Welcome to the forefront of Information Security.
