Organic Computing
Recommended prerequisites
Introduction to Programming from Bachelor of Computer.
Syllabus
The lecture "Organic Computing" teaches approaches to mastering high complexity in technical systems. Based on the definition of the research area Organic Computing and its general objectives, concepts and mechanisms from nature are transferred into technical applications and algorithms. The exercise takes a look at the algorithms and approaches presented and transfers them into a simulated environment. The students learn mainly scientific principles in development and implementation of complex algorithms - the focus is on evaluation and comparison with conventional approaches.
Targeted Proficiency
Obtaining the basic knowledge in the field of Organic Computing, based on fundamental concepts of natural analog algorithms and the functioning of self-organizing systems. To this end, an understanding of problems in the development of complex self-organized systems is developed and illustrated using examples.
