In the first two semesters of study, among other things, the mathematical foundations are laid for later specialized studies. Experience has shown that many students have particular difficulties with this mathematical study content. For this reason, there are a number of additional courses that are designed to make it easier for you to start your studies. Participation in these courses is partly voluntary and partly a mandatory part of your studies.

A pre-course in mathematics is offered before the start of lectures.

Among other things, the pre-course serves as preparation for the mathematics test.

A mathematics test takes place at the beginning of the first semester. This is a compulsory part of your studies.

If you fail or do not take the math test, you should attend the mathematical bridge course. You can take the bridge course exam at the end of the semester. A passed bridge course exam formally counts as a passed math test. Registration for the exam is required.

Participation in exams for other courses requires a passed math test or a passed bridge course exam. Please refer to your examination regulations to find out which courses these are.
