Scientific monitoring of the aptitude assessment procedure for future school principals in NRW
In the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the application for a school management position is tied to successful participation in an aptitude assessment procedure (EFV) of School Management of the Quality and Support Agency (QUA-LIS) NRW. The EFV is carried out as an assessment center, in which participants work on typical professional tasks in exercises as observers evaluate the behavior observable in these exercises with regard to the underlying competencies (role clarity, communication, innovation, management) criterion-related on observation sheets.
The scientific monitoring by the Department of Empirical Educational Research at the University of Kassel aims to verify compliance with scientific quality criteria: Specifically, reliability, ability do differentiate, intersubjective validity, fairness, transparency and acceptance are assessed in EFV and recommendations for the revision of EFV elements are developed for school management.
