Evaluation of the regional conferences organised by DFL/DFB
(in cooperation with the German Football League, DFL Deutsche Fußballliga GmbH)

In 2010 the German Football League (DFL) launched a broad prevention and security initiative to enhance dialogue and cooperation amongst all relevant stakeholders surrounding German football. This framework resulted in several different strategies and projects, one of which are the so-called regional conferences, being held yearly since 2011.

These conferences are organised by the German Football League (DFL) and the German Football Association (DFB) and bring together representatives of all dialogue and security partners of professional football in Germany, including state and federal police, the football clubs of the first three leagues, fan projects, the Fan Project Coordination Centre (KOS), football supporters' organisations and the German railway company DB Deutsche Bahn AG. The aim of these conferences is to enhance the structural and strategic communication and cooperation amongst all these players.

After the conferences having been held for three years, this evaluation project is carried out to assess whether and in which way the dialogue- and networking-efforts fulfil their purposes and bring forth tangible results concerning efficiency, impact and sustainability. The evaluation is designed to be both formative and summative and combines different methods (qualitative and quantitative).

Project duration: 9/2013 - 12/2015
