School workshop "Conspiracy theories - and how to make them credible linguistically"

In cooperation with the school authority for the district and city of Kassel, workshops and lectures will take place as part of the "Radicalization & Extremism" training series on 18.09.2024 as part of the North Hessian Talent Day. In the morning, Prof. Römer's department and the DFG project "Language in conspiracy theories" at the University of Kassel will hold a workshop with around 40 students on the topic of "Conspiracy theories - and how they are made credible linguistically". In the afternoon, a lecture and another workshop at Goethe-Gymnasium Kassel will provide further training for school management members, teachers and socio-educational specialists. The focus will be on "Language use and language reflection using the example of conspiracy theories". Other participants in the day of action include the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Kassel Copilots Association.
