Online ABC's Project India - Netherlands

Inspired by Prof. Finkbeiner's adaptation of the ABC's model (see, among others, Schmidt & Finkbeiner, 2006), Ann-Christin Göbel, University of Kassel, and Sulagna Mukhopadhyay, South Point School India, conducted an online ABC's between schools in India and the Netherlands. Prof. Dr. Claudia Finkbeiner, University of Kassel, and Prof. Dr. Patricia Ruggiano Schmidt, Le Moyne College, Syracuse, New York, USA, were successful with their proposal for their research project "The ABC's of Cultural Understanding and Communication (TRANSABCs)". The project was funded from September 2009 to September 2011 by the U.S. Department of Education, Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education and by the European Union: EXTERNAL COOPERATION/ US & Canada, EACEA - Education, Audiovisual and Culture, Brussels. A total of twelve partner universities in the US and Europe participated in this project. Out of a total of 75 applications, 25 were selected for funding.
