ProUni: Trying before studying: German literature studies

ProUni: Trying before studying
School preparatory course of the Department of Humanities and Cultural Studies
Winter semester 2024/25

German literature studies: Prof. Dr. Holger Ehrhardt and Prof. Dr. Nikola Roßbach

ProUni offers students in grades 9 to 13 concrete insights into the various philological subjects offered by the Department of Humanities and Cultural Studies at the University of Kassel. During taster sessions, interested students can get to know the variety of philological subjects, subject areas and their working methods.
The individual sessions offer insights into current research topics in the respective areas as well as study and career prospects. Each session focuses on specific areas of application of various humanities and cultural studies methods, which the students can try out for themselves.
Anyone can speak, think and believe anyway - what else is there to study? The humanities, which include disciplines such as philosophy, history, theology, literature, media studies and linguistics, play a central role in understanding human culture and society. Strengthening them is essential to promote critical thinking, cultural awareness and ethical reflection. Through interdisciplinary approaches and practice-oriented research, the humanities contribute to solving current social challenges. The promotion and strengthening of the humanities is therefore a decisive contribution to the holistic development of an enlightened and sustainable society. Further information and the program can be found here.
