Alexander Lohner studied philosophy, theology and social psychology.
He received his doctorate in philosophy and theology and habilitated with a thesis on medical ethics.
He has taught and lectured at the Universities of Munich, Berlin and Kassel.
He has published several scientific books and articles in journals and newspapers.
In 2006, he was appointed Professor by the University of Kassel.

Outside of academia, he is active in teacher training, as a medical ethicist and in development cooperation. Among other things, he is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Salzburg.
