Yulia Gromova is a research assistant at documenta Institut and Kassel University. Her long-term research is focused on a set of problems that modernity encounters at a time of ecological predicament. Yulia critically engages with the current narratives around sustainability and explores the ways modern society can transition away from reliance on fossil fuels and carbon-intensive economies.
Previously, Yulia was an editor at Strelka Mag and a researcher at The New Normal Programme at Strelka Institute for Media Architecture and Design. Her collaborative work was published in Ardeth journal by POLITO (2019) and was exhibited at the Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale Of Urbanism / Architecture (2020), and featured as part of Turkish Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale (2021) and other exhibitions.
