This course is designed to introduce architecture and urban design students to the principles of climate-sensitive design using Autodesk FORMA. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, and hands-on exercises, students will gain a solid foundation in using Autodesk FORMA to analyze environmental conditions (such as wind, daylight potential, sun hours, solar energy) and create sustainable architectural and urban design solutions. The course will focus on the analysis of an existing housing quarter in Kassel and on designing building extensions to enhance microclimate issues in collaboration with the local housing company GWG - Gemeinnützige Wohnungsbaugesellschaft. All classes will be conducted via Zoom unless otherwise announced.
