Within the design studio, new student accommodation is to be created as a redensification measure in the form of a gap site development at Holländische Strasse 42, which is ideally located close to the university campus. In addition, a self-defined special use is to be derived for the design of the ground floor zone. The construction site to be planned is bordered to the north and south by existing buildings and to the west by the main road. In addition to the formulation of a holistic concept with the most variable and flexible forms of living possible, the focus is also on the in-depth elaboration of the construction and supporting structure. The integration and architectural appearance in the urban context must be taken into account, as must the conceptual development, taking into account structural, load-bearing, functional and ecological aspects. The design is to be developed as a hybrid multi-storey residential building made primarily of clay and steel.
