AGD Nord meets Institute for Vocational Training
Last Friday, members of the Working Group of Directors of Vocational Schools in North Hesse (AGD Nord) met with Prof. Dr. Jens Klusmeyer (Head of the Department of Business Education with a focus on Vocational Teaching and Learning), Prof. des. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Haack (from 1.4.2024 at the University of Kassel as Head of the Department of Vocational Education with a focus on technology didactics) and Prof. Dr. Michael Goller (Head of the Department of Vocational and Business Education) to get to know each other and exchange ideas.
In a pleasant atmosphere, all participants introduced themselves and provided insights into current projects, challenges and perspectives on the common topic of vocational education. The following discussion points were addressed:
- School culture and team development after the COVID-19 pandemic
- Teacher shortage and opportunities for course marketing
- Current problems in the Hessian transition sector with a particular focus on supporting weaker pupils
- Teacher training and training needs in the context of digitalization trends
- Inclusion as a highly relevant topic for vocational teacher training in the 1st and 2nd phase
- Possible topics for final theses and joint research projects
As an institute, we also took the opportunity to draw attention to the current training and research efforts in our sub-projects within WÖRLD as part of lernen:digital:

- Sub-project BRANCHES - Teacher training and interactive storytelling in cross-phase co-creation of branched scenarios (Prof. Dr. Jens Klusmeyer)
- Sub-project DiWiBe - Understanding and teaching the digitalization of business and commercial professions (Prof. Dr. Michael Goller together with Prof. Dr. Manuel Förster)
