From August 21 to 23, 2024, the Department of Vocational and Business Education took part in this year's EARLI SIG 14 conference in Jyväskylä, Finland. This is dedicated to the topic of "Learning and Professional Development".

The international event serves as a platform for the exchange of current research findings and methods in the context of work and education.

The Department of Vocational and Business Education presented two papers at the conference:

• Poster "Teachers' use of digital technologies outside the classroom: A systematic review" by Verena Pfeiffer (University of Kassel) and Michael Goller (University of Kassel)
• Presentation "Digital communication and collaboration in office workplaces: Challenges and opportunities for informal learning" by Andreas Rausch (University of Mannheim), Alina Gierosz (University of Kassel) and Michael Goller (University of Kassel).

Participation in the conference not only enabled us to present our own research results and ideas, but also to network intensively and exchange ideas with international colleagues. As a department, we look forward to incorporating the impetus gained into our day-to-day research and continuing to play an active role in the future development of this dynamic field of research.

The main EARLI conference will take place in Graz next year. The next EARLI SIG 14 conference will then be held in Antwerp in 2026.
