The  HNA (Hessische/Niedersächsische Allgemeine) published on  4.2.2019 an article about the good performance of several academics from the University of Kassel in a highly regarded business administration ranking. The article refers to the recent ranking of 2,824 academics from the field of business administration from Germany, Austria and Switzerland published in Wirtschaftswoche (issue 4/2019). 

Professor Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister, Head of the Department of Information Systems and Director at the Scientific Center for Information Technology Design (ITeG) at the University of Kassel, comes in this ranking based on publication output in the years 2014-2018 at 4th place of all these researchers and based on the total publication output to date in his scientific career ("lifetime achievement") at 8th place. Dr. Christoph Peters, research group and project leader at Professor Leimeister's Department of Information Systems, comes in 85th in the ranking of researchers under the age of 40 based on publication output.

The HNA report also reports on the performance of three other researchers from other departments at the University of Kassel: Prof. Dr. Matthias Söllner, substitute professor at the Department of Information Systems and Systems Development comes in 68th in this ranking based on the years 2014-2018 at , in 237th place in the area of lifetime achievement and in 26th place in the area of researchers under 40 years of age. Prof. Dr. Stefan Seuring, Head of the Department of Supply Chain Management at the University of Kassel, is ranked 107th in the area of lifetime achievement, and Prof. Dr. Patrick Spieth, Dean of the Department of Economics and Head of the Department of Technology and Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship, is ranked 130th in the period from 2014 to 2018, as well as 52nd among all researchers under the age of 40 who were studied.
