The project "ArgueLearn - Adaptive Learning of Argumentation Skills Based on Artificial Intelligence" of the Institute of Information Systems and the Institute of Computer Science of the University of St.Gallen has been nominated for the Innovation Awards for Digital Education delina in the category University.

In "ArgueLearn", the team of Professor Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister together with the team of Professor Dr. Siegfried Handschuh developed a learning tool in an internally funded project that provides students with individual writing support based on machine learning and natural language processing techniques. The project aims to improve students' argumentation skills in mass and distance learning courses.
A first prototype of the project was published at the ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI) 2020 in the paper "AL: An Adaptive Learning Support System for Argumentation Skills" and received the Honourable Mention Award.
