On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, Mahei Li 's disputation took place at the Department of Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Jan Marco Leimeister) at the University of Kassel. Some colleagues followed the lecture on site in the large hall of the ITeG. Prof. Dr. Leimeister, the examination committee and other spectators were connected online via Zoom. Mr. Li successfully defended his dissertation entitled "A Hypergraph-based Modelling Approach and Applications".

Among other things, Mahei Li deals with how changes affect networked service systems. A value graph developed by him provides the solution. With this graph, interaction analyses are possible, simulations can be carried out and statements can be made about holistic service systems. The service model as an approach to a theory for the service discipline, the new graph structure (the digraph as a hypergraph) and the general systems theory for value delivery structures form the theoretical implications of his dissertation. The practical implications of his work include the design of a novel model-based system, holistic analysis possibilities of these as well as the compatibility and integration with existing systems.
