The paper contribution "Designing Pedagogical Conversational Agents for Achieving Common Ground" by Antonia Tolzin, Anita Körner, Ernestine Dickhaut, Andreas Janson, Ralf Rummer and Jan Marco Leimeister was awarded the "Best Paper Award" at this year's DESRIST (Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technology).

The paper was written as part of the interdisciplinary project Komp-HI and addresses how Common Ground Theory can be used as a basis for the design of a pedagogical conversational agent to overcome the problem of conversational dropouts and unsatisfactory learning processes. The DESRIST conference was hosted this year from 31 .May - 02 June 2023 in Pretoria, South Africa and was held for the 18th time. Characteristic for the conference is that it deals with topics of Design Science Research.
