TANDEM

Start

August 2011, planned duration 45 months

Project Goals

TANDEM develops methods, models and tools for systematic innovation management that transcends age limits and is piloting these in the software and medical technology industry. The aim of the solution strategy for innovation management developed in TANDEM is to improve the innovative ability of companies against the background of demographic change. The core idea of the project is to raise innovation potential through the formation of age-diversified teams (TANDEMs). Heterogeneously composed TANDEMs are intended to create an innovation-friendly framework for an aging workforce. This is achieved through the introduction of an innovation platform on which TANDEMs are formed in such a way that the transfer of experience-based knowledge and current academic knowledge is optimally coordinated. By embedding the innovation platform in an integrated organizational concept, ideal skills development and lifelong learning for all employees should be guaranteed. A special incentive is also the possibility that TANDEM startups have the opportunity to be awarded the necessary resources for developing the idea as part of a business plan competition.
