Assignments of Topics and Supervision

You may apply for one of the proposed topics listed below or propose a topic of your choice related to our research areas.

 

Please submit the following documents:

  • Proposal of approximately 5 pages covering the following topics
  • Motivation in terms of relevance to science (and practice).
  • Current status of relevant research in peer-reviewed international journals.
  • "If you can't find at least ten sources for a question/hypothesis/problem, you haven't searched properly" (Belcher, 2009).
  • Definition of a relevant research gap.
  • A proposal to approach this gap.
  • Certificate of attendance at the library training course.
  • Summary of Achievements/ Transcript of Records.
  • Curriculum Vitae


Please note that we upload extended versions of all accepted proposals (including research, hypotheses, timeline, etc.) on our website. Use the earlier proposals as samples.

Proposals based solely on working for a company (e.g., "I'm doing an internship at Company XX, so I want to write my thesis on marketing for Product X.") will not be mentored.
The papers we supervise are based on the state of the art research documented in the international literature and are therefore usually submitted in English.

 

Formal aspects

All formal aspects (citation style, outline and bibliography, etc.) must follow the guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA).


Submission to the examination office

Two bound copies:

USB stick with a digital version (MS Word or running LaTeX) and a PDF document.

Appendix in the printed version:

Questionnaire with coding

Appendix in the digital version:

All scripts used for data analysis (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS).
All data sets
PDF of the references (if available)
