Welcome to the Department of Ecology

Ecology is the science of the economy of nature. In our field, we explore the interaction of plants, animals and fungi in their natural habitat. The knowledge of biodiversity is essential, in order to answer fundamental questions of ecology. Ecosystem relationships are explained by the observation of different factors. Climate, soil conditions, food availability and diversity of organisms in the natural environment are factors that affect the ecological balance. In addition to working in the field, also state of the art laboratory methods are used in our department. A modern lab equipment for molecular biology and soil analyzes are part of our inventory.
