Aiperi Otunchieva

Aiperi Otunchieva is a PhD student at the Department of Organic Food Quality and Food Culture at the University of Kassel since 2015. The topic of her PhD is "Promotion of well-being of  rural community at local level in the absence of water security in Batken province, Kyrgyz Republic".

Ms. Otunchieva received her Bachelor's degree from the Department of International and Comparative Politics at the American University of Central Asia, majoring in economics. She also holds a Master's degree in Politics and Security (Central Asia) from the OSCE Academy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Ms. Otunchieva successfully completed her second Master's degree in Global Political Economy at the University of Kassel in 2015. The topic of her master's thesis was "Child malnutrition as a challenge for ensuring food security under water shortage conditions in the Batken Province, Kyrgyz Republic". She was awarded scholarships from OSCE Academy, Hersh Chada and DAAD during her studies.

Ms. Otunchieva conducts research in the areas of: Food and nutrition security, hidden hunger, childhood health and nutrition guidelines, drinking water security.
