Katharina Zipp kept in Oktober 2014 on the 18. IFOAM Organic World Congress in Istanbul, where more than 200 Poster were presentet, a prize for the following Poster: Zipp, K.A., Barth, K., Knierim, U.: Agitation behaviour and heart rate of dairy cows with and without calf-contact during different stimuli in the parlour.
for an innovative and practical thesis on the topic „animal welfare in dairy farming“ for the master thesis of Katharina Zipp 2010 „Einfluss des Platzangebots im Vorwartebereich auf Herzfrequenz und agonistisches Verhalten behornter Milchkühe unterschiedlicher sozialer Stellung“ (Influence of the space availability in the waiting area on heart rate and agonistic behaviour of horned dairy cows of different social rank)
Christiane Keppler was awarded for her PhD Dissertation at the University of Kassel: „Investigation of important influencing factors regarding feather pecking and cannibalism in non-beak trimmed laying hens kept in barns or aviaries with daylight and with particular consideration of the rearing period“.
Heike Schulze Westerath was awarded for her PhD Dissertation at the University of Münster: „Cubicle housing for finishing bulls: behaviour, leg lesions and cleanliness in relation to the quality of the lying area“.
