Brief introduction
Michael Wachendorf has headed the Section Grassland Science and Renewable Plant Resources since 2004. He studied Agricultural Sciences at the Universities of Hohenheim and Kiel. With research work in the field of legume-based grassland management, he obtained his doctorate and habilitation. As part of his research work, among other places, he spent longer periods abroad in Ireland and the USA.
Michael Wachendorf is responsible for research and teaching in the following areas:
a. Grassland ecology and management
b. Energetic and material use of biomasses
c. Climate-adapted crop production systems (e.g. two-crop systems, agroforestry systems)
d. Remote sensing methods in crop production.
