In the soil estimation map of Witzenhausen this area is marked with Al 2 SI  50/50, that means: It is according to SCHEFFER & SCHACHTSCHABEL (1984) in average 10 to13% a loamy sand  with solubable components (fraction <0.01 mm) out of young fluvatile sediment at his optimum stage of development (stage 1 was not awarded for alluvial soils). The natural productivity is mediocre, no reductions for stone content, climate, slope and water conditions have been made. According to Schönhals (1954) stage 2 normally is referred as the  soil type "Brauner Auenboden".
