Inheritance rules and the role of women in agriculture of the Global South

Background: Inheritance rules concerning land and water are decisive for shaping farming structures. Particularly, they also structure the role of different genders in the farming sector. This work aims to assess the literature on the subject and how inheritance is regulated in different countries and why and to what effect. This work will be carried out based on literature.

Aim: To assess status of knowledge on gender biases in inheritance rules and or knowledge of its implications and efforts to modify these rules and outcomes.
